Panama is in Central America with 60,000 has of teak, all planted during the 90s until today. Since teak needs to be 20-25 years old in order to be ready for harvest, we are sitting on a significative volume of high-quality teak available now. We are a a group of FSC certified forest owners who promote our products under the brand umbrella "Panama Teak". All of our teak is 100% FSC certified. Teak needs fertile soil, little temperature variation over the year, strong dry seasons, high amount of rain and last but not least political stability and dollarized economy in the country – as it is a long-term investment. Panama has been exporting increasing amounts of teak in the last 10 years primarily to Asia, but also to Europe and to the US. There is an increasing demand from plantation teak, to reduce the pressure from the remaining native forests left in the world. Panama Teak is prepared to fullfill that demand.
